Big Air

Big Air went down the other weekend but a little differently than usual. The crew scooped another one of the lights that was used for Block Party and used it to set up the jump for a night jam. Tons of riders came out to show off what they could do on the jump with winners of the skier and snowboard divisions taking home a brand new pair of skis and a snowboard. Block Party 2.0

Sorry for the late coverage everyone! The 2nd Block Party took place the other weekend with more rails, bigger jumps and hands down some of the best riding the park has seen all year. If you missed out then don't worry, the full set-up is still out on the park with a couple new features coming here and there. Big Air and Style

The Big Air and Style is kicking off later today with sign-ups starting at 4pm. The competition is a jam style competition with two age groups starting at 7pm. The bag jump will be open all throughout practice if you need to work on some new tricks. There will be a lot of good riding and prizes tonight so make sure to be here for this event!

Block Party 2

Hey everyone the moment you've all been waiting for is less than a week away, Block Party 2! Make sure you mark it on your calendars and get here on Saturday, February 22 to ride the second and final Block Party of the 2013/2014 season. This time the park crew will be taking full advantage of the entire lower park trail and filling it with rails, jumps and jibs. Check back later in the week for a better description of what we'll have set up. Also if you're not a seasons pass holder make sure you buy your discount tickets online through crotchedmountain.com before Friday the 21st. So get your tickets, cancel all other plans and make sure you get here for the very anticipated Block Party!

Sunny Slopes

There's no excuse not to be out riding today the trails are sunny and soft. The Block Party rails are still sitting at the bottom of big park and after this snow storm on Wednesday the park crew plans on filling the rest of the trail with the signature jump line.

Instagram Contest

Junior Slopestyle Recap

All the local young guns were out in Zero-G this Sunday competing in the Junior Slopestyle. The 15 riders had three runs to pull out their best tricks on the rails and jumps to show the judges they were going to go home with the prizes. The three women's riders, Alexandra Figuerou, Maddy Zimmermann and Mersadies D'Agostino, all battled for first, second and third until finally Maddy came out on top with Alexandra close behind her and Mersadies taking third. The skier and men's snowboarder divisions were just as close with Lukas Kaiser and Evan Boyd pulling just ahead of the rest of the pack and taking first in their own divisions. Finally Tyler Fougere showed the judges he wasn't going home empty handed for the older snowboard division with his dialed in rail to jump tricks run after run.If you missed out on Sunday keep checking back on the blog or at crotchedmountain.com for upcoming freestyle events.

Reminders

Hey Everyone! Just a couple of reminders about upcoming events and changes. First the Junior Slopestyle is this Sunday. Sign ups are from 9-10, practice from 10-11 and the event itself starts at 11. Second there still is the Instagram contest going on with the out of the park features. Because of lack of snow in the woods we are going to push the deadline back from February 1st till the end of February so everyone as soon as more snow gets in the woods get out there and find some features!

Building Block Party

The Park crew has been hard at work all last night and today getting the rails ready and tonight started putting things in the snow. The Block Party plaza is shaping up to be the best set up you'll ride all year, but if you don't believe me here are pictures of the rails being built and set up today.

Instagram Contest

Crotched Parks is hosting an instagram contest designed to get people out of the park for a little bit and find some natural features. The contest basically goes like this: First go and follow us at crotched_parks, then you have until February 1st (date may be extended due to lack of snow) to get out of the park and take a picture of your favorite out of the park feature. This means it can be a log rail, a tree bonk, cliff drop or any sort of park feature outside of the park off the trail. Once you get your picture you send them to crotchedparks@gmail.com. We will choose our 5 favorite pictures and post them to instagram, the picture with the most votes or likes will win a prize pack. So get out of the park and get creative!

Rainy Days

Its a rainy day up here at the mountain but don't let that stop you from riding. The features are slick, the landings and lips are soft and there's no weekend crowd to cut off your lines. Airbag Sessions

Crotched Parks is getting the airbag back on February 14th! Come learn some new tricks on the comfy airbag before bringing them to the real jumps. The airbag will be making multiple appearances at Crotched this season so if you miss it in February no worries because it will be coming back! Check out the flyer below for airbag dates and rates.
